| Dean's was one of the founding fathers of the toy industry at the start of the last century and is possibly the only one which today remains in private ownership. At the height of its popularity Dean's employed hundreds of workers and yet only fifteen years ago it was on the verge of extinction. Under the Miller family it has once again become a vibrant business. Dean's still manufactures almost all of its products. Dean's created Dismal Desmond, produced the very first Mickey Mouse toy, invented the rag brick, but is now primarily known as Britain's oldest Teddy Bear manufacturer. |
